Meet Taylor: The latest addition to Wordbrew’s customer success team

We’re excited to introduce Taylor, our new Customer Success Manager at Wordbrew!

Taylor brings a wealth of experience from the tech startup ecosystem and a passion for helping businesses succeed. We sat down with her to learn more about her journey and what she’s most looking forward to at Wordbrew.

Q: Can you share a bit about your background and what drew you to the tech startup ecosystem?

Taylor Prendergast: My career started at Yelp in New York City. It was the early days of the tech boom (the one I know, at least), and I was selling impression advertisements to business owners in rural parts of the East Coast. They hadn’t heard of Yelp, many told me the internet wouldn’t last, and were often talking to me on a landline with a desktop computer. It made me realize how fast technology is evolving, offering solutions to solve problems and make our lives easier, and how many people don’t know about it. I was hooked on spreading the news. After Yelp I moved to the Silicon Valley and have been working with early stage tech startups since, I love being part of the building process and working with customers to find solutions for their pain points. Making people’s lives easier makes me happy!

Q: What excites you most about joining Wordbrew?

Taylor Prendergast: Wordbrew is solving a huge struggle for people—creating quality content and the process that goes along with it. With our new SaaS platform, people can use AI combined with human expertise to produce high-quality marketing content and business collateral. I am so excited to help spread the news and watch businesses grow with our solution.

Q: How do you believe great relationships are formed and nurtured?

Taylor Prendergast: Trust, communication, and genuinity.

Q: What’s one of your proudest achievements in your 9 years in the tech startup world?

Taylor Prendergast: Anyone who’s worked in tech startups knows there are countless highs and lows, especially on the sales side. While a lot of wins come to mind, what makes me proudest is watching former colleagues and customers I’ve hired, trained, and worked with, go on to flourish in the tech space and expand their careers.

Q: What does your life look like outside of work?

Taylor Prendergast: I’m back in Skaneateles with my family—yay for remote work! We have a 5-year-old son and a big, stinky golden retriever named Sadie, who often shows up on calls. We love getting outdoors, especially on the lake in the summer. This winter, we’re planning to teach our son to downhill skiing. I also enjoy running, playing golf, and spending time with family and friends.

Q: Can you share a memorable story from your career that had a significant impact on your professional journey?

Taylor Prendergast: I once worked for a startup with a genius technology solution—VC-backed, with some of the best salespeople in the industry. But despite all that, the company didn’t make it. However, I later learned that through the experience gained, I was propelled to higher opportunities. It taught me something—it’s okay to just enjoy the ride, without stressing about the destination.

Q: What are you most looking forward to learning or achieving at Wordbrew?

Taylor Prendergast: I can’t wait to learn more about the industry and connect with folks in it—I hear they’re a fun bunch! I hope to get Wordbrew in front of people who don’t yet know about us and help teams struggling with content creation.

Q: We hear Sadie, your golden retriever, is part of your workday! How does she contribute to your work-life balance?

Taylor Prendergast: Sadie’s great at reminding me to take breaks—especially when I’ve worked through lunch. She also knows when my son gets home and cries until we get some family time in. She’s an essential part of my work-life balance.

Q: If you could give one piece of advice to someone starting their career in tech, what would it be?

Taylor Prendergast: Growth creates opportunities, so make sure you’re always learning.

Q: How do you see your role contributing to the company’s growth?

Taylor Prendergast: Georgia has built something really impressive and disruptive. I hope to grow our client base by reaching teams that may not even realize they need a solution to their content challenges.
